Cubix – Orchestration, Automation and Asset Management – Call for more info

Cubix is an Asset Management, Automation, Orchestration System. The following are the key features of each element of the system:-

►Format Agnostic: and we mean it. Supporting everything from WMV to 4K 3D files, we are able to import, manage and distribute any file format, including ancillary file formats such as subtitles, ZIPs, ISOs, etc. – as well as reference files such as P2 and R3D

►Genealogy: Cubix supports full genealogy on tape media and subsequent mezzanine files and their transcoded derivatives. This not only provides an efficient means of presenting the data – but also allows you to easily track where content has come from

►Full Auditing: every action in the platform, be it automated or human, is logged in real time and kept I definitely, ensuring a full audit trail is maintained. This allows for quick and accurate diagnosis when an issue occurs

►“Pringle Tins”: automatic self managing nearline stores that keep the right content online for the right amount of time, and can handle large volumes of unexpected content arriving without issue – all without the need to have a media manager!

►Client Portals: with Cubix being fully multi-tenanted, you can instantly provide branded client portals for media management, screeners, producer portals, WIPs and much more

►No limits on schema: Cubix is designed to work with many different forms of content, and therefore different kinds of metadata. As a result, you are able to configure differentt schemas for different clients / content types – both flat and hierarchical.

►Multi-site: Cubix is able to work cross site, with separate instances able to transfer content and metadata easily. This allows for cross-site workflows to take place – often removing barriers traditionally introduced with geographically separate locationsKEY FEATURES OF AUTOMATION

►Integration: With tight API-based integration with many of the best of breed products available on the market, it is able to efficiently and reliably drive high volumes of media through these disparate devices from a single automation layer

►Frame Accurate & Monitored Bulk Ingest / Outgest: Supporting all forms of VTR, many capture devices as well as both Flexicart and Odetics cart machines – Cubix offers frame accurate bulk ingest / outgest solutions for both SD and HD, complete with channel condition monitoring. Scalable by n, the platform has no restrictions on how many devices can be automated.

►Enterprise & Open Source Transcoding: Cubix supports all of the major transcoder devices on the market, as well as offering its own open source transcoding solution. This flexibility to include both enterprise and free transcodes ensures you can utilise the best resource for the job in question, all from a single layer and single “pane of glass”

►Exception Based Monitoring: Thanks to the level of integration & monitoring available within Cubix – your operational staff move away from monitoring everything to only having to get involved when an exception occurs. This vastly increases the throughput of what your existing operational resource can deliverReporting: with every asset, derivative and action known down to the frame / byte or second – Cubix is able to provide the most accurate reporting possible regarding the content you hold and what actions have taken place

►Enterprise & Modular: The entire Cubix platform is designed around enterprise-class principals, in a very modular design. This allows for new devices and platforms to be added into the Cubix offering quickly and easily – without risk of impact to the rest of the systemKEY FEATURES OF ORCHESTRATION

►MediaRules: Short process chains or “house rules” that can drive any element of the automation layer (e.g. ingest / transcoding / FBQC / delivery, etc.). Simple but effective, enable you to automate 90% of your workflows with little training for staff required. Lock in high level business rules into the platform
►Taskflow: End to end workflows for specific client requirements that require a mixture of both human and automated actions – often used to provide clients with a “Work in Progress” Portal – or when integrating with other platforms that require stateful task information
►Trigger on any metadata: The orchestration layer is able to trigger of any element of metadata stored within the schema, allowing you to be completely bespoke regarding your orchestration requirements – but within a standard orchestration layer
►Validation: validation actions can be added at almost any point of the workflow – allowing you to add checkpoints before work can continue. An example would be checking all the required metadata is present for a delivery before presenting the operator
►On-board, configure, sign off, go live: with Cubix implemented within your facility – its becomes a clear process of understanding your clients requirements, configuring them within the orchestration layer, sending some test media for sign off – and then go live. Your support and operational staff are still using the same system and same interfaces, regardless how many clients and subsequent specific workflows their in you implementation.
